Albariño has become one of Spain’s best loved wines – a zesty white with thrilling acidity made from a grape that is normally grown in the cooler, wetter climate of Rias Baixas in Galicia. It came as no surprise to us when the innovative Pablo Parra told us he’d created a central Spanish version (at almost half the price!). So we were surprised to discover that his ‘Pazo de Mirasoles’ has the necessary acidity to properly represent the original style. It’s fresh, immediate and minerally and the attractive label on its striking blue bottle even changes colour to indicate when it’s reached optimum drinking temperature.
Excellent
